The golf course has been designed to perfectly fit into the natural environment and create a truly wonderful golf experience. The varied landscape and natural terrain was left as undisturbed as possible to create a unique and world class 18-hole golf course above the historic Kohala Coast.
The existing terrain is “natural rolling hills and lush vegetation” interspersed with areas of diverse tropical trees, overlooking the sea from a variety of elevations and permanent views of the five mountains.
The course layout is the result of a long term study of the terrains conditions and characteristics to preserve the natural beauty and ecological balance of the site. It was always here. We have just perfected nature.
The finishing holes at Makani Golf Club match the finest finishing holes in existence, headlined by Perry Dye's Island Green on #17 which may be more memorable than #17 at Sawgrass. Playing the finishing holes at Makani Golf Club should be on every golfer's "Bucket List."
